KINDERGARTEN READINESS
At Guiding Hands Christian Academy & Childcare, children are taught using the Frog Street Press Curriculum. Teacher - child interaction is the best way for children to learn through play. The children are not only taught academics but also social and emotional skills. These skills are important because it teaches children how to interact appropriately with one another. It is important to us that your child is ready when that important day arrives.
SMALL GROUP LEARNING
We know that lessons are best taught in small groups. Frog Street Curriculum is developed using small teacher-child centers to encourage learning through play. Children are taught a short lesson and then divided into small groups at learning stations where they learn the information through playing with guided materials chosen by the teacher.
SOCIAL/EMOTIONAL LEARNING
As your world becomes more and more electronic, it is of the utmost importance that we teach our children how to interact appropriately with others. A program we teach called Conscious Discipline teaches children how to handle their emotions and how to socialize with others.
